Stockline Forecast

Buyers at a fictional parts distributor needed to spot demand changes before reordering. Mara designed the inventory overview and forecast comparison with two engineers, keeping exceptions visible beside the underlying counts.

  • Sample outcome: 18% fewer stockouts over two quarters
  • Role: interface and data visualization lead
  • Artifact: reorder view with forecast and stock levels

Fieldnote Local

Interview notes and source documents were scattered across folders. Mara built a private notebook that groups evidence by project, searches local content, and exports a readable archive without requiring a connection.

  • Role: independent design and implementation
  • Offline search across notes and source titles
  • Artifact: notebook list, search results, and export view

Clearpath Audit

Clearpath Audit is a fictional open-source tool for recording accessibility findings against specific screens. Mara built a keyboard-operable review flow that ties each finding to a location, severity, and proposed fix.

  • Role: product design and frontend implementation
  • Checks cover keyboard paths and accessible names
  • Artifact: findings list with status and screen context

How I work

Start with the decision

Identify what someone needs to decide before choosing a screen, metric, or interaction.

Make detail legible

Show the right context beside each result so dense workflows remain understandable.

Test the edges

Check keyboard paths, empty states, loading behavior, and narrow layouts.

From question to shipped work

  1. Frame

Agree on the users, constraints, and evidence that define a useful outcome.

  2. Prototype

Test the core workflow with representative data and content.

  3. Build

Implement responsive screens with accessible controls and maintainable structure.

  4. Refine

Review behavior, performance, and edge cases before release.
